IN PERSON

All visa types can be applied for in person.
Appointments (click here to book) are required for in-person visa applications (one appointment slot required per applicant, including children).
Applicants must print and bring all the required documents (including application form), their passport and a newly taken passport photo (taken within the last 6 months) to their appointment.
For those who do not speak English or Japanese, you must bring an interpreter (with valid photo ID) with you as only these two languages can be spoken and understood at the Japanese Consulate (translation apps etc. are NOT accepted).


 

ONLINE

Single-entry TOURISM ONLY visas can be applied for online. All other visa types must be applied for in person.
Eligibility: entering and departing Japan by flight (no cruises); not visiting any friends or family that live in Japan while on holidays; and holding an ordinary passport (no travel documents, no diplomatic or official/service passports).
