第5回日豪対話セミナー

12月10日、グリフィス大学主催「第5回日豪対話セミナー」（国際交流基金助成）が開催され、我が国外務省の飯島政策企画・国際安全保障担当大使や当館の保坂総領事をはじめ、日本とオーストラリアの大学教授や研究者約30名が参加し、日本とオーストラリアにおける内政と外交・安全保障政策との相互影響などについて議論を行いました。

12月9日、我が国外務省の飯島政策企画・国際安全保障担当大使がグリフィス大学主催講演会にて、「アジアの平和、安全保障及び安定に対する日本の一層の貢献」と題して、日本を取り巻く東アジアの国際環境の変化や今般の平和安全法制の成立について講演を行いました。

天皇誕生日祝賀レセプションの開催

12月3日夕に、総領事公邸において日本の国祭日となっている天皇誕生日を祝賀するレセプションを開催しました。レセプションには、クイーンズランド州のパラシェ首相やホームズ最高裁判所長官をはじめとして約200名の方に出席して頂きました。

パラシェ首相よりご挨拶を頂き、10月の訪日が大変有意義であったこと及び日本との関係はクイーンズランド州にとって重要であり、今後とも経済や人的交流の分野等で関係を拡大していきたいとの発言がありました。

また、レセプションでは、福島の「金水晶」を含む5種類の日本酒の試飲コーナーを設け、出席頂いた方から好評を頂きました。

"How Did Architects Respond Immediately After 3/11 (The Great East Japan Earthquake)?"
国際交流基金海外巡回展「3．11　東日本大震災の直後、建築家はどう対応したか」

The Consulate-General of Japan, Brisbane, together with The School of Design, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) hosted a exciting exhibition from 2 February to 20 February which outlined the architectural response to the Great East Japan Earthquake that had occurred on March 11, 2011.

Divided into three sections (First Phase: Emergency Responses, Second Phase: Temporary Housing, and Third Phase: Reconstruction Projects) representing the phases of projects that were implemented or planned from the period immediately after the disaster to the present, the exhibition also includes a number of restoration proposals submitted by foreign architects.

The displays consist of panels that summarize each project with a written outline, drawings, and photographs in addition to related materials such as videos, models, and furniture and cardboard shelters that were actually used in the evacuation shelters.

In addition, the exhibition will coincide with the related event “Design for Grieving, Memorial and KIZUNA” comprising of “Lost Homes Project” by Osamu Tsukihashi, “Emergency Shelter Exhibition” by Jun Sakaguchi and “Installation Art for Tohoku” by Naomi Kasumi.
