Japanese Cultural Day
A day of vibrant Japanese culture at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha. Immerse yourself in a variety of exciting free events including calligraphy demonstrations, tea ceremonies, bonsai displays, ikebana arrangements, enchanting koto performances and try out a range of food from local food trucks. Japanese Cultural Day is suitable for all ages with something for everyone.

IN TOUCH
The IN TOUCH project is an ongoing initiative of Touch Base Creative Network, linking students, artists, educators, and researchers from the Asia Pacific region for joint activities aimed at the discovery of new perspectives. IN TOUCH 2026 features connective creative activities between Australia and Japan, including an exhibition of drawings by staff and students from the Joshibi University of Art and Design Drawing Center, on display at Everton Park Library.

There will also be a Joint Exhibition at Woolloongabba Art Gallery linking artists, educators, students, and graduates from Joshibi University of Art and Design (JOSHIBI), and Queensland College of Art and Design Griffith University (QCAD).

Matsuri Brisbane 2026
Matsuri Brisbane is a joyful celebration of Japanese culture in Brisbane. From the timeless beauty of tradition to the energy of pop culture, this festival offers hands-on experiences for all ages.

Japan and Friends Day
Enjoy Bon Dance, entertainment, food, music, craft, and cosplay on the Gold Coast.
